Peripheral Arterial Disease

The Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) program at The Heart & Vascular Center of Northern Arizona specializes in the diagnosis, treatment and rehabilitation of peripheral arterial disease. Our interventional cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons specialize in medical and surgical treatment of PAD and work as team to provide the best treatment options for those diagnosed with PAD.

PAD is a condition in which the arteries that deliver blood to the body become narrowed or clogged. PAD is caused by atherosclerosis and is common among individuals older than 50 years old. People with PAD also have an increased risk of heart attack and stroke. According to the American Heart Association, as many as 12 million Americans experience PAD.
