Cheryl Martin, M.D., General Cardiologist

Cheryl R. Martin, M.D., F.A.C.C., general cardiologist, is a member of the Heart & Vascular Center of Northern Arizona.

Expertise and Special Interests
Dr. Martin specializes in the noninvasive aspects of general cardiology. Her expertise and special interests include:
* Intraoperative Transesophageal Echocardiography (TEE)
* Cardiovascular Pathology
* Women’s Cardiovascular Research

Before moving to Northern Arizona, Dr. Martin was part of a private practice in Palm Springs, Calif. She has practiced medicine from coast to coast, including New York, Wisconsin and Texas.

Dr. Martin is very active in community outreach and education on women and heart disease. She wrote, produced and directed the documentary, A Silent Threat – Heart Disease in Women.  She also produced a cable television series, Matters of the Heart, that focused on women and health. The series ran for more than five years on public access television.

Education and Certifications
Dr. Martin received her medical degree from the University of Southern California School (USC) of Medicine in Los Angeles. She completed her internship and junior residency at Los Angeles County USC Medical Center and her senior residency at King/Drew Medical Center and UCLA Medical Center, both in Los Angeles.
