The Heart & Vascular Center of Northern Arizona has announced a new office location at the Verde Valley Medical Center—Sedona Campus, 3700 W. State Route 89A, Sedona. Appointments are available each Friday, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. by calling toll free at 877 928-WELL.
The Heart & Vascular Center has the largest team of cardiovascular physicians ever assembled in Northern Arizona, with offices in Cottonwood, Camp Verde, Flagstaff, Sedona and Winslow.
“We are excited to offer our comprehensive services in Sedona,” said James Dwyer, M.D., medical director of the program. “By opening offices throughout Northern Arizona communities, we are ensuring patients can receive cardiovascular care close to home.”
A partnership between Flagstaff Medical Center and Verde Valley Medical Center, the Heart & Vascular Center is designed to provide patients a continuum of care, and offers comprehensive services from diagnosis and treatment through recovery and rehabilitation. Diagnostic (noninvasive) services include all types of stress testing, nuclear imaging, cardiac and peripheral ultrasound, cardiac Doppler, and pacemaker/defibrillator interrogation and programming.
When invasive procedures are necessary, cardiac catheterization, balloon angioplasty, stent placement, permanent pacemaker insertion and interventional treatment for peripheral arterial disease are available.
The Heart & Vascular Center includes the first open-heart program in Northern Arizona at Flagstaff Medical Center, and the only program in the region specializing in off-pump coronary artery bypass. Other cardiothoracic and vascular surgeries include valve repair and replacement, MAZE procedure for atrial fibrillation, and major thoracic and vascular surgical procedures.
