Steven M. Heilbrunn, M.D., Interventional Cardiologist, is a member of the Heart & Vascular Center of Northern Arizona.

Expertise and Special Interests
Prior to joining HVCNA, Dr. Heilbrunn worked as an interventional cardiologist at several prestigious hospitals in Pennsylvania. He served as the director and assistant professor of interventional cardiology at Temple University in Philadelphia. He has authored numerous articles related to cardiovascular interventions, procedures and the use of medications to treat patients. Additionally, he has led multiple research projects in the area of pharmaceutical treatment options.

Education and Certifications
Dr. Heilbrunn earned his medical degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine in 1981. He completed his internship and physician residency programs in internal medicine at Boston University, after which he went on to complete two fellowship programs at the prestigious Stanford University Medical Center – the first fellowship in cardiology, followed by a fellowship in interventional cardiology.

Dr. Heilbrunn is board certified in interventional cardiology. He is certified to perform transesophageal echocardiograms.
