James Dwyer, M.D., Interventional Cardiologist
James Dwyer, M.D., F.A.CC., F.S.C.A.I., Interventional Cardiologist, is the medical director of the Heart & Vascular Center of Northern Arizona.
Expertise and Special Interests Dr. Dwyer specializes in direct coronary intervention for acute myocardial infarction and the developing therapies for the treatment of congestive heart failure.

Since 2000, Dr. Dwyer has served as the medical director of Verde Valley Medical Center’s Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory, where he developed and initiated its innovative interventional cardiology program.
Before moving to Arizona in 2000, Dr. Dwyer was director of the Cardiac Catheterization Laboratory at St. Joseph Hospital in St. Louis, and in a private cardiology practice for more than 17 years.
Education and Certification Dr. Dwyer earned his medical degree from St. Louis University Medical School and completed his residency in internal medicine at St. John’s Mercy Medical Center in St. Louis. He continued his training with a cardiology fellowship at St. Louis University Medical Center.
Dr. Dwyer is board certified in internal medicine, cardiovascular disease and interventional cardiology.
